Namadgi National Park
Namadgi National Park is located in the south-western part of the Australian Capital Territory. The park was created in 1984 and covers almost half of the ACTs land area. Its name comes from the local Aboriginal name for the mountains in the area. Many Aboriginal sites of significance, stone tools, quarry sites, stone arrangements and rock art have been discovered within the National Park. Bushwalking is the most popular way to explore the park, which has 160km of marked walking trails. The visitors centre for the park is about 40 minutes drive south of Canberra.
